It is an honor to serve a community as unique and dynamic as Winthrop Harbor. From our beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline and North Point Marina to our neighborhoods, businesses, and visitors from across the region, this Village depends on a fire department that is highly trained, committed, and ready to respond at any moment. Our personnel take great pride in protecting this community and providing professional, compassionate service to everyone who lives, works, and visits here.

Founded in 1949 as a volunteer fire department, the organization evolved into a paid-on-call department and today operates as a professional part-time fire department providing full-service fire, emergency medical, and rescue operations to the Winthrop Harbor community. This evolution reflects our continued commitment to excellence and to meeting the growing needs of the community we serve.

We are equally proud of the strong partnerships we maintain with our first-responder neighbors, including the Zion Fire Department, Pleasant Prairie Fire & Rescue, Newport Fire Protection District, and the Beach Park Fire Protection District. These relationships strengthen our regional response capabilities and ensure seamless service for our residents and visitors.
