In accordance with the Illinois Open Meetings Act, the Village publishes and maintains the agendas, minutes, and other records of each of its elected and appointed Boards and Commissions. Agendas are posted no less than 48 hours prior to the noticed start time of the meeting, and minutes are posted after approval by their respective board or commission.
Boards and commissions are composed of residents who generously volunteer their time and expertise. Members are appointed by the Village President and confirmed by the Board of Trustees. Terms and membership sizes vary by board.
Committee chairs are elected annually by their fellow members and must not be currently serving elected officials.
Each board and commission follows procedures established by Village ordinance. While the Planning & Zoning Board meets monthly, others convene quarterly or as needed. Meetings are generally open to the public and serve as forums for discussion, review, and formal recommendations to Village leadership.
These bodies may be responsible for:
Reviewing development proposals
Advising on community programs and services
Conducting public hearings
Overseeing departmental standards and practices
Our boards, commissions, and subcommittees rely on dedicated residents like you to help shape local policy, support community initiatives, and guide the Village’s future. Your willingness to get involved is greatly appreciated, and we look forward to learning more about how you can contribute to the continued growth and success of our community.
